The story began when as a young girl she spent many happy hours on her Grandfather’s allotment and pottering alongside her Mum in the garden. Illicitly picking rose petals, hydrangeas, and geraniums to make playful perfume concoctions. Nipping in and out of the greenhouse checking the seeds, monitoring the cuttings and watering the tomatoes, immersing all her senses in nature. Her early career in sales and marketing set Ruth on a successful path for many years but the itch would not go away.

The desire to be creative, expressive and leave the corporate world behind became impossible to ignore and 15 years or so ago the idea of Ruth Milton Jones Flowers By Design was born. Ruth has established an award-winning floral design business. She has an unparalleled eye for detail and is always pushing for excellence, striving to deliver beautifully bespoke floral designs and exceeding client expectations. Each job is meticulously planned and efficiently executed from her studio based on the Gower, Swansea. Collaborations include BBC Wales, The Royal Horticultural Society and The Oldwalls Collection.

When not surrounded by beautiful blooms or knee-deep in flower buckets Ruth can usually be found dashing out on the school run, making memories with her family, enjoying a glass of fizz with friends and swimming on the Gower or planning her next holiday. She loves a good breakfast get-together with friends and finds Joe’s Ice Cream difficult to refuse.

Hates fruit, cleaning out the van and any type of housework.
